It seems like Twitter is more responsive to its users than users think. This is evident from the fact that Twitter has kept to its promise under the leadership of its CEO, Jack Dorsey, of a true battery-saving dark mode. In order to share the news with the world, the company tweeted about its new dark mode with a black background. The new feature is being marketed as “lights out” and has begun rolling out. However, this is only available for the Twitter app on iOS.

Many app developers are continuously rolling out dark mode support. This not only looks good but it also helps save battery on smartphones with OLED displays. In this day and age, almost all mid to high-end smartphones featured OLED panels. Since OLED panels work by only lighting up those pixels on the screen which aren’t black, it helps to increase battery life. Well, Twitter believes that the proper black background will also help reduce strain on the eyes when viewing it in low light scenarios.
This is certainly a brilliant addition to the Twitter app on iOS. If you haven’t tried it as yet, do give it a go and let us know what you think of it in the comments section below.
