Redmi flagship phone may come in two variants with 256GB of storage: Report

Redmi has upped the ante and its journey from being a budget-centric smartphone brand to the one offering affordable flagship grade devices at is almost complete. Redmi, Xiaomi’s sub-brand, has been rumored to launch a flagship-grade budget device this month. Its top executives had been teasing about a device with a pop-up selfie camera and Snapdragon 855 SoC.

As per the latest report, Redmi is said to launch not one but two different devices this month in China. These flagship smartphones are said to come in three different color options Red, Blue, and Carbon Fiber also, at least four different memory and storage combinations are being reported : 6GB RAM + 64GB storage, 6GB RAM + 128GB storage, 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage.


The company has been releasing short teasers via Weibo and the recent one suggests that the phone will house a pop-up selfie camera and an earlier teaser from Redmi’s GM Liu Weibing confirmed the presence of an in-display fingerprint sensor. Sources have revealed that both the incoming devices may have similar key features which include a pop-up camera and an in-display fingerprint sensor.

While not much official information is available as of now, let us take these leaks with a pinch of salt till May 13th when Xiaomi is hosting a launch event in China and is supposed to unveil both the devices during this event.
