Finally, the wait is over as the Chinese giant Huawei unveils the much anticipated 5G variant of Mate 20 X. The device alleged renders and hands-on video leaked last month. The retail packaging was also out, today the company officially launched the phone in the UK.
Apart from having 5G support, the Mate 20 X comes with smaller battery cell as opposed to the standard Mate 20 X. The Mate 20 X comes with 4200mAh battery cell as opposed to 5,000mAh on the Mate 20 X. It is understandable considering Huawei added 5G hardware in the same package. Other hardware specs remain same, the Mate 20 X 5G features a gigantic 7.2-inches display with Full HD+ screen resolution of 1080 x 2240 pixels. The Huawei's 7nm Kirin 980 chipset is powering the phone with 6GB RAM. The Balong 5000 modem is on board to take care of 5G connectivity.
On the rear side, you will get triple cameras, the primary snapper is 40MP with f/1.8 aperture. The secondary snapper is ultra-wide angle 20MP sensor with f/2.2 aperture. Last but not the least there is an 8MP telephoto module with f/2.4 aperture and optical zoom up to 5x. As OS the device is pre-installed with Android Pie with EMUI 9 skin over it.
As far as the release is a concern the Mate 20 X 5G will be up for pre-orders in late May with a release in June at a price tag of £999. It will be available in Emerald Green color only.
