Black Shark 2 gaming phone to debut in India on May 27

Black Shark, a brand under Xiaomi's umbrella, is making its debut in India. This time it’s the Android gaming phone Black Shark 2 which is going to be launched in India on May 27 and will be sold exclusively via Flipkart. The phone was originally launched in the month of March this year and has received the BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) certification in India recently.

Black Shark, apart from selling its gaming Android phones may also announce gaming peripherals like GamePad 2.0 etc. in India. The Black Shark 2 comes with the flagship processor the Snapdragon 855 coupled with multiple storage variants. There are three different variants based on storage and memory i.e. 6GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB and the top of the shelf variant 12GB/256GB. These were priced at CNY 3199, CNY 3499 and CNY 3799 respectively. Back in China, the Black Shark 2 is available in Shadow Black, Mirage Blue, and Frozen Silver shades color options.

This second-generation Android gaming phone from Black Shark comes with a 6.39-inch Full HD+ (2340 × 1080 pixels) display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and is supported by the third generation of Liquid cooling. It runs on a custom version of Android 9.0 Pie and comes with dual sim support.

The phone comes with a dual camera setup with the primary sensor being a 48-megapixel Samsung-GM1 sensor and a secondary 12-megapixel Samsung S5K3M5 sensor with a telephoto lens. A 20-megapixel snapper is present on the front for selfies.

Other features of Xiaomi Black Shark 2 include an in-display fingerprint sensor, dual 4G Volte connectivity, Bluetooth 5, USB Type-C and a 4000 mAh battery with 27W fast charging support.

The Black Shark 2 price in India is said to start at Rs. 31,000 approximately. It is yet unknown if the company will announce all the three storage variants in India.
