Instagram livestream now makes room for face filters

21 September 2017 2

A month ago, Instagram added comments threading feature just like how it was made on Facebook soon after which it announced new ways to reply to photos and posts. Days after Instagram allowed new ways to make texts more expressive through Direct, the team has a new update to its Instagram Live feature which was rolled out at the start of the year.

Starting today the previous existing face filters are available to Instagram Live. This means users would be able to go Live and add the various animal faces, crowns or nerd glasses anytime during the live feed. There’s also a new sunglass filter available throughout the next week which can only be accessed inside a live video feed and lets users change the type of scenery reflected upon them by just a single tap.

With Facebook Live having already been added to face filters, it wasn’t long till Instagram did the same though the latter had added to it photos and videos at the start of the year. Users will need to tap on the face icon on the bottom right of the screen, upon which they’ll get to choose from different face filters. While the rollout has started today, it’ll be a little time till it gets seeded to all users across different regions.
