Dell has announced its newest UltraSharp U4919DW monitor which brings a gigantic 49-inch visual space for anyone who wants that. It is being touted as the world's first 49-inch curved dual Quad HD monitor as it joins the ever-growing list of large display monitors. This monitor is specifically targetted as professionals to improve their productivity levels which means if you want a big monitor for gaming, you might want to look elsewhere as it does not boast refresh rate as fast as you would prefer.
The new Dell UltraSharp 49 monitor is said to be equivalent of using two 27-inch 4K monitors side-by-side. This is the reason it has a Picture-by-Picture mode which allows you to connect two different PCs to the same monitor and use them at the same time. Since there is literally a huge size of display area, none of your two sources will look fighting for space to show content. In fact, there will be no drop in the resolution either. As for the monitor itself, it has a resolution of 5120 x 1440 pixels which is all yours to admire if you wish to connect only one PC.
It is compatible with Dell's Display Manager application which helps in an easier and efficient management of the viewing space. It basically lets users arrange their open windows next to each other like tiles. It is further boosted by Auto-Restore functionality so that your arrangement of windows remain the same way even when you re-connect the monitor after sometime later.
In terms of connectivity options, it has a USB Type-C port with 90W supply to help you charge your PC while using it. It further has two HDMI ports, one DisplayPort, five USB 3.0 downstream ports, and two USB 3.0 upstream ports. It boasts a curvature of 3800R and is said t offer 178-degree viewing angles along with support for 99% sRGB color gamut.
The Dell UltraSharp 49 curved monitor has been priced at $1,699 with sales starting October 26th in the United States. There are no words on global availability yet.
