Since Intel has opened up on everything about its new Comet Lake 10th Gen CPUs, PC makers are ready to upgrade their laptops and bring new ones to the market. Dell is one such manufacturer that has upgraded its XPS and Inspiron laptops with Intel’s Comet Lake 10th Gen CPUs.
Initially, Dell is bringing new 13.3-inch notebooks with quad-core CPUs and it will bring new laptops with Intel’s top-end hex-core processors. Dell hasn’t only made its most popular XPS 13 model more powerful but it has also made some design changes. The new models come in CNC-machined aluminum chassis with a carbon fiber composite. The new laptops are thinnest and lightest 13.3-inch notebooks on the market.
The new laptops are equipped with a 13.3-inch LCD panel with thin InfinityEdge bezels as well as an 80.7% screen-to-body ratio. The display panels feature a 1920×1080 or 3840×2160 resolution. The CPUs have a new cooling system that relies on two fans for a better cooling mechanism. There’s an ultra-thin vapor chamber, and Gore thermal insulation to ensure stable performance even under high loads.
The new Dell XPS 13 models come with up to 16GB DRAM as well as a PCIe SSD up to 2TB in size. It comes with Wi-Fi 6 + Bluetooth 5 controller, two Thunderbolt 3 ports, a microSD card reader, a 3.5-mm jack connectivity options among others. The new XPS 13 models come equipped with 52Wh battery that can enable operation for up to 19 hours on one charge.
Dell’s new XPS 13 with quad-core CPUs will be available starting August 27 at $899.99.
Dell has also upgraded its two Inspiron laptops – Inspiron 14 7000 and Inspiron 7000 13-inch 2-in-1 laptops. Both of them feature 10th gen Comet Lake CPUs and look similar at first glance, but there are a few differences. The Inspiron 14 7000 has a thin profile and slimmer bezels and comes with USB-C charging instead of relying on the 4.5mm barrel charger. On the other hand, the 2-in-1 Inspiron will ship in 13-inch, 15-inch, and 17-inch configurations, with the latter to sizing options featuring the DDR4 RAM.
The Inspiron 14 7000 and Inspiron 7000 13-inch 2-in-1 laptops will ship on October 1st starting at $929.99 and $849, respectively.
Dell has also made it official that XPS 13 2-in-1 Project Athena laptop with 9 hours of battery life is now available.
