Nokia X7 to launch on Oct 16 in China

10 October 2018 2

HMD Global has announced the Nokia 7.1 smartphone mid-range phone with a notched display design earlier this month. The company has now revealed via its Nokia Mobile Weibo account that it will be holding an unveiling event on Oct. 16 to launch the new phone in China. The teaser image shared by the company hints that they will be launching the Nokia X7 smartphone on the said date.

Earlier rumors had suggested that HMD Global may debut the Nokia 7.1 smartphone in China on Oct. 16. However, the camera module shown in the teaser image posted by the company is a little different from the camera setup of the Nokia 7.1.

The teaser images show ZEISS branding can be seen in two camera sensors. The dual-tone LED flash is placed on the left side of the vertical camera. The Nokia 7.1 also features ZEISS branding clearly shown in the rear two cameras.

The Nokia 7.1 phone has the LED flash placed below the dual camera modules. It looks like the same Nokia TA-1131 smartphone which was certified by TENAA around two weeks ago. So, it looks that the Nokia X7 smartphone could launch on Oct. 16.

The Nokia X7 teaser image hints that phone has low-light photography prowess. It will come with a 6.2-inch display with HD+ resolution. Under the hood, the phone is powered by a Snapdragon 710 chipset and will launch in 64 GB storage + 4 GB RAM and 128 GB storage + 6 GB RAM variants. The phone will be backed by a 3,400mAh battery and will run on Android 8.1 Oreo OS out of the box. The Nokia X7 will debut with Nokia 7.1 Plus moniker outside of China. The company will be holding a launch event in India tomorrow, which may showcase the Nokia 7.1 Plus smartphone.
