Sony to bring new Xperia smartphones to MWC on February 24

16 January 2020 0

Sony has started sending media invites for its MWC 2020 event where it is expected to launch its new Xperia phones. The invitation doesn’t mention if Sony will launch new Xperia phones but it is evident from what has been provided. The background and the source link to watch the live stream, together are enough to indicate the obvious.

However, it still remains a mystery that what new phones Sony will launch at the biggest Mobile World Congress. Going by the leaks and speculations, Sony is likely to bring the Xperia 5 Plus together with the Xperia 3 to the event. But looking at the trend that Sony follows, we may see more phones getting unveiled in the Xperia series at the event.

A report came in November last year, Sony is aiming to launch at least 4 flagship phones and 3 mid-range Xperia phones in 2020. And, since Sony takes advantage of the MWC event every year, we may see a few of them getting unveiled at the very start of the year.

All these suspected high-end smartphones are expected to come powered by Snapdragon 865 processor and may also feature the 5G connectivity. The mid-rangers, on the other hand, may feature the Snapdragon 700-series, expectedly the Snapdragon 765 platform.

There is also a smartphone from the Sony Xperia series that has been making rounds due to so many rear cameras. A leak came earlier in June suggests there is an Xperia phone with at least 6 rear cameras and since we are too close to the MWC event, we believe this phone could launch now. A concept image was also made by one of the popular tipsters and shared on Twitter.

Well, let’s just wait for more days to come where we could know what new phones is Sony bringing, or else just wait for the event to unveil the mystery by itself. Sony is conducting the event on February 24 at MWC at 8:30 am CET.
