Google rolls out 4K gaming for Stadia on the web

Google has rolled out some new features and updates for Stadia and the most notable one is the ability to stream in 4K on the Chrome on the web. Up until now, the 4K visuals were available with the Chromecast Ultra and televisions only and now the addition to the web is a welcome change.

A Community Manager on the subreddit announced the availability and the requirements to have the best experience on the web. The main and the obvious requirement is a monitor with 4K resolution. Others include a GPU capable of decoding VP9 in hardware, selecting “Best visual quality” in Data Saver settings within the Stadia mobile app and an internet connection of 35Mbps or higher. However, 9to5Google noticed that 4K visuals can still be experienced in “good” connections too. So, the attaining the "best" or the mentioned Mbps speed may not be the hurdle for you to stream the Stadia on the web.

Oppo Find X2 series official: Snapdragon 865, 120Hz display, 65W fast charging

After a gap of one year, Oppo has officially launched Find X2 series as a successor to 2018's Find X. The series was unveiled in China and comprises of two smartphones: Find X2 and Find X2 Pro. It goes without saying that the Pro model brings everything best that Oppo wanted to offer. Both smartphones also share a lot of specs and features and that is how we will start this launch coverage.

The Oppo Find X2 series boasts a 6.7-inch Quad HD+ (3168 x 1440 pixels) OLED punch-hole display. It offers a 120Hz refresh rate, a 240Hz touch sampling rate, a 93.1% screen-to-body ratio, 100% P3 color gamut support, and 513PPI pixel density. The phone is set to the 120Hz refresh rate by default but you can always switch back to 60Hz whenever you want. It also offers an option where the refresh rate is adjusted automatically depending on the content.

The series is powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 865 5G processor clocked at 2.84GHz and Adreno 650 GPU. There is whopping 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and it is the only option that you will get. The selfie camera is a 32-megapixel sensor with f/2.4 aperture. It offers dual optical image stabilization (OIS) and electronic image stabilization (EIS) along with phase detection autofocus (PDAF), laser autofocus (LAF), and contrast-detection autofocus (CDAF). Both smartphones will run ColorOS 7.1 based on Android 10 out of the box.

Moto G8 with Snapdragon 665, triple rear cameras officially unveiled

After launching a bunch of Moto G8 family smartphones, Motorola has finally unveiled the standard Moto G8. It has been released without much fanfare and via a quiet product listing on the Motorola Brazil website. It joins previously revealed Moto G8 Plus, Moto G8 Play, Moto G8 Power, and Moto G8 Stylus.

The Moto G8 features a 6.4-inch HD+ (1560 x 720 pixels) Max Vision display with a 19:9 aspect ratio. It is the display panel that has a punch-hole in the top left corner. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM. Motorola has listed the phone with only 64GB onboard storage which should offer microSD card expansion as well.

The three cameras on the back are 16-megapixel main sensor with f/1.7 aperture, an 8-megapixel wide-angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor with f/2.2 aperture. The selfie camera is an 8-megapixel sensor that you will find placed within the punch-hole for obvious reasons.

Infinix has launched Infinix S5 Pro as the cheapest pop-up camera smartphone in India. It means the phone neither has a notch nor punch-hole display. It also features a triple rear camera setup and is priced in the budget segment. It will be sold exclusively via Flipkart with no offline sales planned.

The Infinix S5 Pro sports a 6.53-inch Full HD+ (2220 x 1080 pixels) display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. Under the head, it has the MediaTek Helio P35 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM. It offers 64GB of onboard storage with microSD card support for storage expansion. It also happens to be the only configuration model available.

The triple camera setup includes a 48-megapixel primary sensor, a 2-megapixel depth camera, and a low-light camera. There are a bunch of camera features like AR Animoji, Custom Bokeh mode, which is basically the portrait mode, AI 3D Face mode, and Beauty mode. A new update is now rolling out to all the three Galaxy S20 phones. The update weighs 250MB and it brings further improvements to cameras. The initial camera reviews on the Galaxy S20 Ultra aren't great but the update is likely to bring some enhancements, mainly to autofocus. According to TizenHelp, users are reporting improved autofocus and manual focusing on the Galaxy S20 Ultra. The update also mentions the improvement of gesture navigation on the device.

Just a day after, Digitimes has published a fresh report claiming that the iPhone SE 2 or iPhone 9 release may get delayed due to the Coronavirus outbreak. It says that Taiwanese flexible PCB makers who work as Apple suppliers "will see their shipments for the upcoming entry-level iPhone SE2 deferred from the first quarter to the second".

This delay will affect the release and eventually actual iPhone SE 2 availability. Since Coronavirus has already affected various tech companies' plans in different ways, we would not be surprised to see it affecting Apple as well.

OnePlus File Manager app now available on Play Store for faster updates

OnePlus has made available its File Manager app on the Play Store for quick installation and future updates. Although the file explorer comes preinstalled on the OnePlus phones, there wasn’t any "faster" way to update it manually. Now, it is about to change. OnePlus phones can head over to Play Store and look for the app to update or if you have automatic update settings enabled then the app will get updated on its own.

Motorola Edge+ renders show waterfall punch-hole display, triple rear cameras

2020 is going to be a special year for Motorola fans as the company is set to release its first Android flagship in many years. It is the Motorola Edge+ that has already surfaced in a couple of leaks and rumors. OnLeaks, a well-known tipster, has now collaborated with online publication Pricebaba to share high-quality Motorola Edge+ renders.

These renders show that the Motorola Edge+ will be sporting a waterfall punch-hole display panel. A waterfall display is the one that spread across the edges on both the left and right sides. The top and bottom parts appear to be flat as compared to the other two sides that give it a design similar to the Samsung Galaxy Note 10. It has only a single tiny punch-hole which means there will only be a single front camera.

The display size is said to be anywhere between 6.5-inches and 6.8-inches. The resolution has not been mentioned but the presence of an in-display fingerprint scanner is confirmed. The phone has a triple camera setup on the back panel which is aligned vertically. There is a Motorola logo in the center along with an LED ring. It is speculated that the ring may be used as a notification reminder. The renders also give the impression that it has a metal and glass back panel as it is shown to be reflective.

Google Assistant on Android can now read web pages aloud

If you are someone who loves to read web content on their smartphone browser, Google has a new feature tailored just for you. Google Assistant is now capable of reading web articles out loud on Android devices. The feature was first previewed at CES 2020 and is now available for everyone to use around the globe.

A user simply needs to open the web article they are interested in reading and then trigger Google Assistant. The voice command for the new feature is "Hey Google, read it" or "Hey Google, read this page" and it will start to work instantly. It will start reading the article out loud in the language it is written but if that is not your native language, it will show you a translate option. Google says it is capable of translating in 42 languages and the whole process happens in real-time. It means if the content is in Chinese and you want it in English, it will start speaking out in English itself.

The whole experience of Google Assistant reading articles out loud is similar to listening to a podcast or audiobook. It offers options to play/pause the audio as well as shortcuts to jump forward or rewind by 10 seconds. There is a time seek bar which you can use to jump directly to any specific part. And yes, it lets you control the audio playback speed to suit your need or preference.

iPhone 12 series to feature up to 64MP cameras, bigger battery, and more

Apple is widely rumored to release a total of four models within the iPhone 12 family later this year. Now, a new video from YouTube channel EverythingApplePro talks about a few of the changes that will make the iPhone 12 series different and better from the current-gen iPhone 11 series.

Filip Koroy, the video host, has cited XDA's Max Weinbach as the source behind most of the information shared by him. Starting with the camera department, Apple is said to be ready to go for higher megapixel count camera sensors. It has stuck with 12-megapixel camera sensors for quite some time but now, it is reportedly testing iPhone 12 prototypes with camera sensors up to 64-megapixels. The exact reason for the change is unknown but it could be due to things Samsung and Huawei are doing with their flagship smartphone cameras. The camera improvements are not just limited to increasing the megapixel count. Apple is considering increasing the wide-angle camera aperture by 35% (f/1.6) without altering the angle itself. AKG N400 wireless earbuds already available with Samsung QLED TV as bundled offer

The AKG N400 wireless earbuds that were supposed to be introduced separately have already gone available for purchase, but not for everyone. Well, these earbuds are available only for those who are purchasing Samsung’s 2020 QLED 8K Smart TV.

It has been spotted (by TizenHelp) that people buying a smart TV from Samsung Website in South Korea can claim earbuds for 50% off. Samsung has not made any official announcement, nor does the wearable has an official page on the official website for a detailed introduction. And, since there is no official announcement, there is no information regarding the product’s full price as well.

Note that the AKG N400 wireless earbuds first appeared inside the Samsung SmartThings app without much of an explanation. But it was suggestive that the wireless accessory will launch pretty soon, though nobody knew the wearable will come as a bundled offer with Samsung’s 8K TV.

Huawei phones may feature IndusOS' AppBazaar app store in India

Ever since Huawei became a part of the unwanted U.S Entity list, it has been looking for alternatives to make up for the lost access to Google Play Store, apps, and services. This is the reason it is heavily promoting its own app store called AppGallery which it recently claimed to be the third-largest in the world. And now, a new ET report claims that Huawei is in talks with IndusOS creator OSLabs about the use of its app store AppBazaar on devices in India.

AppBazaar is the native app store of IndusOS that features over 400,000 apps available in 12 Indian regional languages. The latter part is what makes it unique as it is easily accessible for users who are not well-versed with English or Hindi. Huawei is said to be hoping to leverage AppBazaar's reach and features to make up for no Google apps and services on Huawei and Honor devices in the country. The deal is currently limited to India but both parties are said to be open about the possibility of a global expansion in the future.

The report does not mention the exact outcome of the deal between Huawei and OSLabs. It is hard to say whether Huawei will implement AppBazaar on its devices as it is or it will integrate its offerings within its own AppGallery app store. The latter is already available on Huawei and Honor devices available in India and since its ultimate goal is to push Huawei Mobile Services (HMS), the integration option looks more likely to happen.

Twitter testing self-destructing tweets called Fleets in Brazil

Twitter is now testing self-destructing tweets called Fleets in Brazil that will disappear after 24 hours. If this sounds familiar to you, it is because the feature is similar to Stories functionality on other social media platforms. Snapchat was first to introduce this new format of sharing content which was adopted by Instagram followed by others.

The official announcement mentions that Fleets is meant to help users express themselves more freely. Twitter says that many users refrain from sharing their views on topics as traditional tweets are permanent. With Fleets, they can feel assured that those tweets will disappear automatically after 24 hours. Moreover, other users cannot heart, retweet or embed Fleets which means they will be limited to the user's own profile.

While other users can reply to Fleets, they will be able to do so only via direct messages (DMs) and that too only if you have your DMs open to everyone. These tweets will mainly include texts but also supports adding GIFs, stickers, and videos. In other tweets, Fleets are exactly like standard tweets except for being ephemeral and without any interactions from others on the platform.
