Powerbeats 4 with 15 hours of battery, improved Bluetooth announced for $150

17 March 2020 0

Powerbeats 4, the fourth generation Powerbeats with a few notable upgrades over the 3rd-gen Powerbeats. The most significant improvement in the new wireless earphones is the longer battery life which means you can play music or listen to your favorite podcasts for longer. The new earphones are claimed to offer 15-hour battery life, which is up from 12 hours available in the Powerbeats 3.

The Powerbeats 4 also has improved Bluetooth hardware, which means you get better connectivity. This is an Apple product and it features the Apple H1 chip for quick Bluetooth pairing and hands-free “Hey Siri” functionality. Two Powerbetas 4 earphones can also be paired to the same iPhone using the Audio Sharing feature. So you can enjoy the same song, movie or a podcast along with a friend.

Another interesting addition is the IPX4 rating that makes the wireless earphones sweatproof, thus you can wear them during your rigorous exercise schedule. The Powerbeats 4 includes a power button (on the left earbud), volume rocker, and a multi-function “b” button (on the right earbud only) for controlling music. Beats claims that the new wireless earphones should sound basically the same as the Powerbeats Pro true wireless earbuds.

The Powerbeats 4 charges over the Lightning port (a USB-A to Lightning cable is included in the box).

The Powerbeats 4 earphones are currently listed on the Beats official website for $150 but they are not yet available. They will be available starting March 18th from Apple, Best Buy, and other retailers that carry Beats headphones. They will come in black, white, and red color options.
