Every year we eagerly wait for new iPhone, iPad, and Mac lineups. But there is one product that appears to have grabbed more attention than the usual iterations this time. We are talking about the much-rumored AirTags, a Tile-like tracking device. The name of the device is not uttered by the company, well, Apple never does that either. It never discloses the name or even details of an unannounced device. But the name of the device has inadvertently surfaced many times before, thus indicating its existence on the planet. In fact, its name has popped out so many times that we started expecting a near launch out of it. But this never became a reality. Now, a new report is talking about a near launch of AirTags once again.
A new research note from well-known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo talks about the launch of the AirTags. According to the analyst, the long-awaited AirTags may finally be ready to launch in 2021. Well, this was not hard to assume or even guess, considering the device never showed up in the past. He also throws some more light on the matter by saying Apple appears to be now fully ready to launch AirTags to the market.
The same research note that has been obtained by MacRumors talks about a new AR reality device as well. According to the analyst, Apple is also readying a new augmented reality device. He didn’t specifically mention the type of device coming but several past rumors have suspected it to be an AR headset or glasses, or both.
Furthermore, he also gave insights on Apple's plans to release new AirPods in 2021. Kuo also said that Apple may launch more Silicon Macs and its first devices with Mini-LED displays throughout the year. Previous rumors have pointed towards a new 12.9-inch iPad Pro and various MacBook models with mini-LED displays launching in 2021, offering richer colors, improved contrast, and more.
Note that Apple had already announced its plans to transition its entire Mac lineup to Apple Silicon within around two years. So, this report does not bring any surprises.
Let’s see if AirTags will launch this year or not.
