OnePlus Buds Z2, the new pair of truly wireless earbuds have finally gone official alongside the much-anticipated OnePlus 9RT. The all-new Buds Z2 looks similar to their predecessor, from the cylindrical-shaped charging case to the design of the earbuds themselves.
While the design looks almost unchanged, these are the new features that make the new earbuds different from their predecessor.
The OnePlus Buds Z2 now also supports Active Noise Cancelation (ANC) and as per the company’s claims the earbuds can block noises up to 40dB, thanks to the presence of three microphones. The Buds Z2 also supports transparency mode that allows you to be aware of the surroundings.
Apart from this, the new Buds Z2 have a better driver setup, improved battery life, and much more. The battery life of the new Buds Z2 is rated to offer up to 38 hours of battery life on a single charge and it drops to 27 hours with noise cancelation, which is, nevertheless still a jump from 20 hours on the Buds Z. Each bud can offer up to 7 hours of autonomous use with ANC off and 5 hours with ANC on. Buds Z2 supports Warp Charge that can offer 5 hours of listening from a mere 10-minute charge.
Furthermore, the latency now falls under 100ms and low latency means better responsiveness which can benefit gamers.
The OnePlus Buds Z2 now gains slightly larger 11mm dynamic drivers, although still substantially smaller than the 13.4mm drivers present on the OnePlus Buds.
The OnePlus Buds Z2 is also IP55 water-resistance rated and supports Bluetooth 5.2. They come with support for the AAC and SBC Bluetooth codecs and the BLE, SPP, HFP, A2DP, and AVRCP Bluetooth transmission protocols.
The price of the OnePlus Buds Z2 in China is CNY 499 (~$77). They will go on sale starting from October 19th in China. The earbuds come in two color variants – black and white. They come with interchangeable ear tips as well. They
We expect the OnePlus Buds Z2 to arrive in India as well just like its predecessor. For comparison, the Buds Z launched in India back in October 2020, so we can expect the Buds Z2 to arrive during the same timeframe.
