Niantic has recently revealed that the company’s most popular game, Pokémon GO, will soon get couple new updates. The developers are not only planning to introduce more creatures to the game but also add a new dynamic weather system that will change the looks of the game.
The updates will come in two parts. Firstly, more than 50 new Pokémon from the Hoenn region will be added to the game later this week. The Hoenn region was depicted as a part of the Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire series aired back in 2002. Therein, a lot of focus was centered on the advantages of weather conditions for Pokémon battles. This is where the second update kicks in. Niantic has said that the second update will add real-time weather changes to the game. The real-time weather conditions will not only strengthen certain types of Pokémon but also make them pop up more than often for the Pokémon Masters.
Niantic Project Manager Matt Slemon, said,
Fans of Ruby and Sapphire will know that Hoenn brought more than just new Pokémon. It was the first Pokémon game that introduced weather affecting the world itself. Hoenn was heavily influenced by the world around it [and] we took all of that as pretty hefty inspiration.
Archit Bhargava, Niantic’s head of global product marketing also told TechCrunch that an in-game holiday event is in works and might start up sometime around December 21.
