Google may announce 2nd-gen Pixelbook alongside Pixel 3 smartphones

23 July 2018 3

From last few years, Google is holding a press event in October to unveil their smartphones. As per so far rumors this year Google will unveil Pixel smartwatch, Pixel 3 lineup smartphones and 2nd-gen of Pixel buds. However, as per the latest info, the company will also unveil 2nd-gen Pixelbook as well at the same event.

The well-known tipster Evan Blass tweeted today regarding the release of new Pixelbook later in fall this year at Google's fall 2018 event. He also stated the new Pixelbook will be shipped before the end of this year.

Last year Google announced Pixelbook at the October event. The device went up for pre-orders soon after the announcement. The entry-level 128GB model and the standard model with 256GB storage were released in few weeks, however, the company delayed the top of the line 256GB model till January. So its worth noticing that all variants will be available before the end of this year.

Google is offering special discounts on the first gen Pixelbook for quite some time. So it isn't surprising at all to read that Google is getting ready for the 2nd gen Pixelbook announcement. Apart from confirming the announcement, Blass also stated the device will have thin bezels display.

The thick bezels were certainly the not-so-good aspect of first gen pixel book design. However, the thick bezels could be handy in some scenarios like tablet mode but the pixel book lacks this mode so it isn't a likable aspect.

As the launch is still a few good months away so we will keep a close eye on new rumors and leaks. Stay tuned, we will keep you updated.
