In the latest update after the launch of Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL smartphone, we know it all and considering that we now have access to the latest Pixel 3 XL launcher.

The assistant icon that acts as a shortcut to launch the Google Assistant is added to the G pill that should give a quick way to launch the assistant (which was previously a mic icon). This feature was also previously under testing in the past. Secondly, adaptive icons are now forced to all the app icons much like in the original launcher that comes with the Pixel 3, making all the icons look uniform, even to the apps that are quite old and aren’t updated. If you would notice, this is the very reason why the weather app gets a dinner plate behind it.

Likewise, the spacing between different UI elements is a bit further apart, which could possibly be to make the UI look cleaner.
