Google Fast Pair support expands to all Android 6+ devices, Chromebooks getting soon

28 November 2018 2

Tech giant Google continues to innovate and bring new features to its mobile ecosystem and one such feature was ‘Fast Pair’ which the company introduced last year. The feature allowed to pair with Bluetooth devices to Android devices much easier than before. Now in the latest development, Google shared that all the accessories that are compatible with ‘Fast Pair’ feature would be able to connect with smartphones (devices) that are associated with similar Google Account.

This means that on the basis of Google account ownership, Fast Pair would connect with Android phones running on Android version 6+ much faster than previously available Bluetooth connectivity workflow. Likewise, the same feature is also coming to Chromebooks making their connectivity with Android phones easier.

Google has already partnered with various accessories manufacturers to develop products compatible with Fast Pair like Jaybird from which we have Tarah Wireless Sport headphones. Likewise, other brands Bose, Anker SoundCore are on board as well. Google aims to make the compatibility easier of the manufactures and thus is also in talks with the leading companies in Bluetooth audio product manufacturing like Airoha Technology Corp, BES, and Qualcomm.
