It is that time of the year where we get to see developer previews for the upcoming Android version. This year, it will be Android Q beta and if latest reports are to be believed, an official release can happen as soon as in the next few hours today i.e. March 11th. It is based on the fact that Google has already made Android Q beta bug tracker page live.
It was first spotted by XDA editor Mishaal Rehman who tweeted about the same. The page is live and can be used for submitting bugs related to Android Q beta. He further noticed that the page has a date filter set to March 11th suggesting that an official release could happen today, likely in next few hours.
In a separate report, XDA cited an Android Developer Backstage podcast featuring developer Illiyan Malchev to mention that Android Q beta will be supporting even more devices than Android Pie beta. Malchev can be heard praising last year's beta program where a number of OEMs were part of the testing. He goes on to say that "the number is bigger for the upcoming Android release" but did not share specific details.
It means it is unknown how many OEMs will be partnering this year and which OEMs are exactly there. But considering that Android Q beta is expected to become available in a few hours, we should get answers to all these questions too.
