Google Chrome for Android to get a better way to switch tabs

13 March 2019 4

Tech giant Google continues to improve Chrome for Android, adding new features and improvements to make web browsing easier on mobile devices. Previously, Chrome for Android got a new explore tab while the dark mode is under testing that would not only put less strain on the eyes but would help save the battery as well. Now in the latest development, Google is working on a new feature to switch tabs on Android in a much fashion.

Seeing from the image surfaced online, the upcoming Chrome for Android could show up favicons of the websites open in different tabs and just by tapping on any of them (just like you click the tab on the PC version), would switch the tab instead of doing the same by first opening up the tab view. This would save a couple of taps and would increase productivity.

The same tab bar is expected to have a mini tab switcher icon so that users could open up tab view right from there in addition to having a plus icon to open up a new tab as well. The feature is under work and we would see it in the future versions of Chrome for Android.
