Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi continues to improve its camera app and this time the update is quite interesting and powerful. Back in I/O 2017 event, Google announced its amazing technology in the shape of Google Lens that had the ability to identify objects. One year later at I/O 2018, the tech giant announced that Google Lens would be available through camera apps of different OEM’s camera apps and soon we saw how LG, Motorola, Xiaomi, OnePlus and HMD/Nokia and Google to begin with adopted the feature by integrating it into their camera apps.
Google Lens app is also available as a standalone app through Google PlayStore and could also be used from Google Photos as well. Now in the latest development, Xiaomi has also integrated the feature into the MIUI’s built-in camera app taking it one step further. To use Google Lens, you can simply launch your MIUI’s camera app and harness the power of AI built into Google Lens.
The feature is currently only available on MIUI camera app version 3.0, which means that it won’t be available on all Xiaomi phones, though we could expect the feature to be rolling out to more devices in times to come.
