Google Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL have appeared in a new leak claimed to be of official renders. The leak is coming from Android Headlines and mentions that these renders depict the final design. Even though both the smartphones have been shown only from the front, there are a few noteworthy things to talk about.
In the first look, both Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL look almost identical but a closer inspection shows some difference. The XL model seems to be slightly bigger and thicker. It makes sense considering it is supposed to be the elder sibling in the lineup. There is no notch or slim bezels as Google has opted for bigger top and bottom bezels. This is what we used to see in smartphones about a couple of years ago.
The renders show the two devices with the same wallpaper and Google's signature At a Glance widget. You can notice that the widget is showing May 7th as the date which is also the day when Pixel 3a lineup is speculated to become official. It is also the same date on which Google is teasing "something big" for the Pixel universe. In other words, it is almost confirmed that May 7th is indeed the launch date for these upcoming phones.
The charging port is at the bottom but it is not clear whether it is a USB Type-C port or a microUSB port. On the top, one can see the headphone jack which has made a return to the Pixel family after a gap of two years. Although, it does not necessarily mean that the Pixel 4 will also have a headphone jack.
If we go by other leaks and rumors, Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL are said to sport a 5.6-inch and 6-inch display respectively. There will be Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 and Snapdragon 710 processors along with 4GB/64GB configuration. These are expected to feature 12-megapixel rear cameras and 8-megapixel front cameras. The battery capacity on the two phones is tipped to be 3,000mAh and 3,430mAh respectively.
