Pixel 3a, Pixel 3a XL India launch teased for May 8 by Flipkart

01 May 2019 3

As we are waiting for the affordable Pixel phone launch event set for next week, Indian e-commerce giant Flipkart has started to tease Pixel 3a lineup India release. It has set up a dedicated teaser page suggesting that Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL will be released in India on May 8th.

On the website home page, Flipkart has placed a banner with the question "Losing Sight after Twilight?" which is clearly a reference to low-light photography capabilities. It also has Google's "G" logo hinting that it is some product from the search giant. Clicking on the banner takes you to a dedicated teaser page.

The page has an answer to the question asked on the banner. It says that "Help is on the way" and that "Something big is coming to Pixel universe. Know more on 8th May". The date is in line with the upcoming Pixel event set for May 7th in the United States which is the same day Google I/O 2019 will also kick-off. And if we consider the time zone difference, May 8th in India will be the same time as May 7th in the U.S. It means could see the Indian release at the same time as the global release.

Both Google Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL are set to be affordable Pixel smartphones. These will bring toned down specification as compared to main Pixel 3 flagships. It will allow Google to price them relatively cheaper but still around Rs. 30,000 price bracket. They will feature mid-range chipsets in the form of Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 and Snapdragon 710 respectively. The camera quality will remain to be one of the main selling points of these devices like other Pixel lineup phones.

The Google Pixel 3a isn't still available. To be notified when it becomse available click here.
