Google Pixel camera app is getting time-lapse mode

08 May 2019 3

Google has announced that the Pixel camera app will now be receiving the time-lapse mode. The new mode was announced during the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL unveiling which will be offering the same right from the first boot. As for other Pixel smartphones, they will receive a software update to get the new mode.

Once the feature becomes available, Pixel users will have to launch the camera app and tap the More option. It will show you different modes like Nightsight and Slow Motion including the all-new time-lapse mode. Tapping on the mode will enable it and you will be able to capture time-lapse footage with ease.

It has been reported that Pixel's time-lapse mode will allow users to adjust the playback speed of the recorded footage. One can choose from 5x, 10x, 30x, and 120x depending on the preference or the need. Google Photos application will also have native support for time-lapse footage so that it can be played instantly and without any tweaks.

As mentioned in the beginning, the time-lapse mode will be coming to all Pixel smartphones that have been released so far. These include the Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL, Pixel 3, and Pixel 3 XL. All you need to do is to wait for a new software update to arrive.

The time-lapse mode in the first place is quite a thrilling addition to the Pixel camera app. Having it in-built without the need for any third party support is cool.
