Google is currently busy with the Android Q development as the beta program for the same is under full swing. All the beta testers are currently waiting for the fifth developer beta but Google reportedly released an upcoming build to one Pixel 3 XL user way ahead of the time. The build was investigated by 9to5Google folks who noticed a few interesting things about Google's future plans.
The leaked Android Q beta build features the build number QP1A.190626.001 which is different from the pattern followed in all previous releases. The upcoming fifth developer beta should have build number starting with QPP5 but since it is not the case, it suggests that is an internal testing build meant for future release. Interestingly, the build is also running August 2019 security patch which is another reason to believe that it was not supposed to become public until next month.
The folks spotted two major changes in the leaked build as compared to the currently available Android Q fourth beta. The first major change is related to the full system gesture navigation feature. The build offers a new option to adjust the Back Sensitivity which offers an adjustment slider. There are a total of four sensitivity levels starting from Low to High. This change might be related to the better navigation drawer support scheduled for the fifth beta release.
The second change is related to the Google Camera app meant for Pixel devices. The app included in the leaked build has version 6.3 which is higher than the currently available stable version 6.2. The team has moved Pixel's Night Sight mode to the main camera app UI for faster and easier access. It is currently available within the More section of the app which results in not-so-great user experience for regular users of the mode. Alternatively, Google might be hoping to bring more users to the features, especially those who might not be aware of it.
It is hard to say when exactly this leaked Android Q build will be released officially. But as and when it will happen, we will make sure to keep you posted on the same.
