Google Fit is a bare-minimum health and fitness app meant for Android and iOS devices. It helps users track basic activities like walking, cycling, and running which it does automatically. And now, Google has released a new update for the app to make it a little more useful and productive for those who do use it.
The first major change is that Google Fit now supports integration with sleep tracking apps. It means if you use any of the supported sleep tracking apps, you can link it with the Fit app and check all your sleep-related data and insights. The integration has been added because the app is incapable of tracking sleep quality on its own.
Once the two apps are linked together, Google will show a dashboard with all the sleep tracking data and insights. There will be a chart for a better and quicker understanding of the results. The app will further allow accessing and editing entries as well as adding manual entries through the Journal tab.
The second major feature is the dark mode support. It means Fit is now the latest Google app to get native dark mode which turns the app background to dark color scheme. The mode can be enabled from app settings or one can set it to automatic for the times whenever battery saving mode is turned on.
These new Google Fit features will be released for Android as well as iOS devices. The update will be released for everyone by the end of this week. Make sure to visit your respective app stores to check for the same and download as soon as it becomes available.
