15 June 2021 0

Asus has a brand-new Chromebook device named Chromebook Flip CM5 in the market. It joins the Chromebook Detachable CM3 that was unveiled just a few days ago. The major difference between the two is that the newest offering does not have a detachable keyboard. It is a convertible that can be flipped around for different usage modes.

The Chromebook Flip CM5 sports a 15.6-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS LCD display with touchscreen and stylus support. It is a glossy LED-backlit panel with 250 nits of brightness, 45% NTSC support, and an 81% screen-to-body ratio. Under the hood, it is available with AMD Ryzen 3 3250C and Ryzen 5 3500C processors. There are AMD Radeon GPUs to handle the graphics-intensive tasks.

There are multiple configuration options featuring 4GB, 8GB, and 16GB of DDR4 RAM. The storage options include 64GB eMMC or 128GB/256GB M.2 NVMe PCIe 3.0 SSD. The connectivity options include two USB Type-C 3.2 Gen 2 ports, one USB Type-A 3.2 Gen 2 port, one HDMI 1.4 port, and a microSD card reader.

The new Chromebook features a 720p HD webcam, a backlit Chiclet keyboard with a 1.4mm key travel, and a Titan C security chip. The battery capacity on the notebook is 57WHrs and it will ship with Chrome OS. The Chromebook Flip CM5 has been priced at $499.99 with a single Mineral Gray color option.
