Have you ever felt like deleting emails in bulk from a particular sender? Well, I bet you have and chances are, you might not able to filter the emails from that particular annoying sender. Sometimes we just agree to newsletters of a particular service or website and later realize that our Gmail is just flooded with so many of those newsletters that are of no use. But, how to delete those specific emails without affected the other emails in your Gmail account? Well, you first have to filter them so that you could only remove the emails from that sender only.
I’d suggest you first unsubscribe emails from that particular sender if you do not wish to receive any more emails from them. Once unsubscribed, let’s just delete those emails that you have been hoarding for a long time now.
Gmail allows you to filter emails based on certain search queries using some operators that it supports. So, we are going to use one of the operators here that Gmail supports.
Yes, you just have to use this operator in order to first search emails from that particular sender and then delete it. Take, for instance, you want to delete all the emails from a sender whose name is “James Smith,” so you will just write first: James Smith in the "Search mail" box provided on the top of the inbox.
This will filter out all the emails sent from James Smith and you will just need to select the checkbox provided on the top of the inbox section and delete all the emails at once.
Here, I’ve shown the sender’s name – Mozilla, for example.
I’ve selected all the emails sent from Mozilla at once and clicked the Delete icon to delete all these emails at once. This will delete 50 emails at once.
If your inbox is filled with truckloads of emails from a particular sender then you will need to delete them in batches, like 50 then other 50, and so on.
Also, below to the Search mailbox are the four options that allow you to filter your search even further. For instance, you can choose to delete only those emails that include attachments or those which are unread.
You can also choose to delete emails sent by that particular sender in a particular time period. This will lower down the load on your inbox and help you organize your emails even better. So, that is how you can delete many emails at once from a particular sender in Gmail on desktop.
