Microsoft has released Windows 10’s next major update – the May 2020 Update (aka 20H1) to the Insiders in the Release Preview ring. The build number is 19041.207 (KB4550936) and Microsoft believes it to be the final build for the Windows 10 May 2020 update. So, if everything goes well, the same build will be released as the Windows 10 May 2020 update to the public sometime soon.
The new update has been made available to a subset of Insiders in the Release Preview ring for now. However, you can manually update as well by going to Settings and then Update & Security and choosing the Windows Update option and manually check for updates.
The update brings some notable fixes and also includes the latest security updates to Microsoft Scripting Engine, Microsoft Graphics Component, Window Media, Window Shell, Cloud infrastructure, and more.
While sharing a long list of fixes, Microsoft has warned users of Windows Mixed Reality to do not update to the Windows 10 May 2020 Update as there is an issue in the latest update. They are currently advised to hold off taking the latest update and Microsoft may fix this issue in early May.
It is unknown when exactly the May 2020 Update will come to the public.
