Samsung has officially unveiled a new gaming monitor named Odyssey G7. It is the latest addition to the Odyssey lineup aimed at PC gamers with a wide range of products. The unique selling point is that it is claimed to be the world's first gaming monitor with 1000R curvature.
It means that the Samsung Odyssey G7 has a curvature radius of about 1,000 millimeters i.e. 1 meter. In other words, if you were to place these monitors side by side, their curvature will result in a circle of 1-meter radius. It is said that curved monitors offer a more realistic and immersive experience as they follow natural contours of human eyes.
The all-new monitor has been unveiled in two display sizes: 27-inches and 32-inches. Both the variants feature Quantum Dot display panels with 2560 x 1440 pixels aka WQHD resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio. It offers a peak refresh rate of 240Hz that will surely be appreciated by gaming fans. There is also support for NVIDIA G-SYNC and Adaptive Sync on DisplayPort 1.4 for refresh rate that adapts dynamically for an optimal gaming experience.
As per the announcement, Samsung will start selling Odyssey G7 sometime in June 2020. There are no words on the pricing yet but we will keep you updated as and when it will be revealed.
