Honor has launched three new laptops under its MagicBook lineup. Two of them are the refreshed MagicBook 14 and MagicBook 15, and the third is the new MagicBook Pro. Alongside these new laptops, Honor also unveiled two new tablets at the IFA 2020 event happening in Berlin.
All of these new notebooks use Ryzen 4000-series processors, though the MagicBook Pro uses an H-series processor, which is the Ryzen 5 4600H.
The MagicBook 14 and MagicBook 15 are light in weight and both of them have 1080p resolution. The MagicBook 15 has a 15.6-inch display while the MagicBook 14 has a 14-inch screen size. In both cases, you get a choice between 8GB and 16GB DDR4 RAM and 256GB and 512GB NVMe SSD. The 14-inch laptop has a larger 56Wh battery while the 15.6-inch gets only 42Wh power cell.
In terms of I/O ports, the MagicBook 14 comes with a USB Type-C port, an HDMI port, a USB 3.2 Gen Type-A port, a USB 2.0 Type-A port, and a 3.5mm headphone/microphone combo jack. The laptop features a fingerprint sensor on the power button for Windows Hello biometric authentication, a pop-up webcam. The notebook comes with a 65W Type-C power adapter, which is capable of charging it up to 46% in just 30 minutes. The MagicBook 15 also features the same selection of I/O ports. It also comes with the same 65W Type-C power adapter that can charge this smaller battery to about 53% in 30 minutes.
The Honor MagicBook 14 and MagicBook 15 will be available for purchase in the UK, France, and Germany. The cost of MagicBook 14 is €749.9 and it will be available starting September 21. It will be available in Mystic Silver and Space Gray color options. The MagicBook 15, on the other hand, will be available from early October. The notebook has been priced at €699.9 and comes in two color variants — Mystic silver and Space gray.
Coming to the MagicBook Pro, this notebook has a 4600H processor with AMD Radeon graphics, coupled with 16GB DDR4 RAM and a 512GB NVMe SSD. It features a much larger 16.1-inch FHD display with minimal bezels and a screen-to-body ratio of 90%. The I/O ports include three USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, a USB Type-C port, and HDMI 2.0 port, and a 3.5mm headphone/microphone combo pack.
The MagicBook Pro comes with a 56W battery with a 65W fast charger that is capable of charging the notebook to about 50% in just 30 minutes. According to Honor, the new MagicBook Pro can last up to 11 hours on a single charge while playing a locally stored 1080p video.
Just like others in the new lineup, the MagicBook Pro features a fingerprint scanner embedded in the power button and a pop-up webcam. The notebook packs a more powerful processor so Honor has also included dual fans and dual heat pipes to keep it running cool under load.
The MagicBook Pro will also be available for purchase in the UK, France, and Germany, but starting from September 7. It is priced at €899.9 and it will be available in a single color variant — Space gray.
Together with new laptops, Honor has also launched two tablets. One of them is Pad 6 that features a 10.1-inch display with 1920x1200 pixels resolution. There are two speakers backed by Huawei’s Histen 61 audio tech. It is powered y Kirin 710A, 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, though there is a 4GB RAM and 64GB storage configuration also available. The tablet runs Android 10 with Magic UI 3.1 out of the box. It will be available in both LTE and Wi-Fi versions.
The second tablet is Pad X6 that also runs Android 10. It features a 9.7-inch display with 1280x800 pixels resolution. It is also powered by a Kirin 710A processor with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage It has a 2MP camera on the front and a 5MP camera on the back, plus the two speakers.
