Acer has launched Chromebook Spin 513, a new addition to its growing Chromebooks lineup. The main highlight is, this is the first Chromebook to come powered by the latest Snapdragon 7c processor. Qualcomm back in December 2019, announced new mobile processors, including the Snapdragon 7c to target the Always Connected PCs. The Snapdragon 7c was announced to power entry-level Windows notebooks but it is the first time that it has landed on the Chrome OS platform.

With the Snapdragon 7c platform, Qualcomm claims to offer 25% more power than the competition while offering twice the battery life. So, we expect to see similar performance from the newly-launched Acer Chromebook Spin 513 as well. Acer is touting “enhanced multitasking and responsiveness” with its new Chromebook.

It has an aluminum top cover and features a 13.3-inch full HD IPS touchscreen display. Both the display and the touchpad are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass so as to resist scratches and damages. It has two built-in microphones and an optional backlit keyboard. The Chromebook Spin 513 comes with up to 8GB LPDDR4X SDRAM and up to 128GB storage.

Acer is promising up to 14 hours of battery life and claiming the Chromebook can easily lat for more than a full day of work or school. The new Chromebook also comes with optional 4G LTE support so that you can enjoy an always-connected experience. This ensures that you get always-connected access to the web so that you could do more.

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.a with 2x2 MIMO tech, optional 4G LTE, 2xUSB Type-C, DisplayPort over USB-C, and USB charging. It also includes a USB 3.2 Type-A port and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity.

Acer has also launched an Enterprise variant of the Chromebook Spin 513 that gets some special capabilities to suit the businesses. Acer asserts that Chrome OS offers a secure and productive environment for employees to operate. Acer touts IT professionals will find it easy to control updates configure apps, and do more with web-based management.
