Samsung has sent out media invites for its upcoming event where it will unveil its new Exynos 1080 chipset. According to the media invite, the event will happen in Shanghai on November 12. The teaser cum invite does not reveal any key highlight of the processor but Samsung partially disclosed some of the key specifications of the new Exynos 1080 processor last month.
A top-level executive from Samsung revealed the Exynos 1080 uses ARM’s latest CPU architecture that includes Cortex-A78 and the latest GPU Mali-G78. The Exynos 1080 is based on a 5nm process which means expect better performance and less battery consumption. Early insight on the processor has shown the Exynos 1080 is ahead of the Snapdragon 865 Plus processor.
Note that this is the first time Samsung is holding a dedicated event for its processor. This indicates Samsung has some big plans to target. Other semiconductor companies like Qualcomm are heading at a rapid pace and have been bringing new competitors in almost every price range.
Well, we are not too far away from the set event launch date. Let’s wait a bit more to gain more information on the same.
In related news, Qualcomm has its event scheduled for December 1. This is a Tech Summit where it is expected to announce Snapdragon 875, its next major flagship processor.
