Google Stadia gets Family Sharing and in-gaming messaging via new update

17 November 2020 0

Google Stadia, the cloud gaming service has received a new update that brings a number of new features. One of the main highlights includes “Family Sharing” support, which allows Stadia Pro subscribers to share games with their family members. So, whatever games you have purchased being a Pro subscriber can be played by multiple members of the family. Reportedly, it still does not let players use the same game at the same time.

Before you can use family sharing, you’ll need to create a Google family group with the same email address you used to set up your Stadia account.

The second addition is Messaging on Stadia that unlocks the capability to start in-game messaging with other players and members of parties on Stadia.

Furthermore, you can now share your screenshots and video clips via a link on mobile and web. Just click the share button in your captures page to generate and share the link. Also, video captures will now include game chat voices as well.

Last but not the least addition is Stadia Profile enhancements. As the title defines, Google has updated the Stadia profile to include information such as owned games, friends list, and presence. There are new shortcuts added as well that will allow the players to take quick actions, such as inviting other players to your party.
