Microsoft has released the Edge version 87 to the stable channel now. The new version brings the features that you might have heard coming for unstable versions before. One of the main highlights is redirecting you from IE to the Chromium-based Edge browser for some incompatible sites. This new change was reported last month and now it is coming for everyone using the stable version of the Microsoft Edge.
Another important addition is the shopping feature that identifies when you are doing shopping and suggests coupons for the things you might order, thus, giving you options at better prices. Furthermore, via a blog post, Microsoft shares more details on this new shopping feature. Microsoft touts the Edge browser has built-in tools to help you save time and money while you shop online with new features like auto-fill coupons.
Microsoft Edge will alert you if there are any coupons available for the site you are on. You can also manually look for the available coupons by clicking on the blue shopping tag in the address bar.
Microsoft claims its new Edge browser is more secure than Chrome and Firefox and assures you’re safe when shopping online. Microsoft is actually promoting its new Edge browser by keeping the new shopping feature in the front, “Microsoft Edge is the best browser for shopping this holiday.”
The new coupons feature in Microsoft Edge is coming for both desktop and mobile.
In the release notes, Microsoft shares that the price comparison feature will also be rolled out to mobile in upcoming updates for Microsoft Edge 87. It is currently available for desktop experience only.
Other than these, there are a couple of features dedicated to enterprises as well. The new shopping features are tied with Microsoft Bing as well, including a new shopping hub, Shop the Look, and deals hub. The new shopping features have been added just in time for the holiday shopping season.
