IFA, one of the leading trade shows that happen annually has announced how its plans for this year’s event. IFA in a press release has announced that it is ready for the “full-scale return,” which means the event is set to take place as a full-fledged real-life/ in-person event from September 3-September 7, 2021 in Berlin.
Back in 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic was in its full swing, IFA organizers announced some changes to the way it usually conducts the event. IFA 2020 allowed the limited physical presence of attendees, thus making a partially in-person event for people with special invites. Speaking of the participating companies, they all scrapped their plans of attending the IFA 2020 event, and eventually, the event turned into a digital one where brands virtually exhibited their new products and services through online medium. Some brands held their own special events after withdrawing from the IFA 2020.
But, this year, IFA 2021 believes the world is again ready for the biggest trade show to happen in person, thanks to the ongoing vaccination process. Jens Heithecker, IFA Executive Director and Executive Vice President of Messe Berlin said,
“As always, keeping our visitors and exhibitors safe is our top priority. The global vaccination effort is gaining huge momentum, while tough lockdowns are finally beginning to pay off – which gives us confidence that we can invite the world to come to Berlin in September for IFA 2021.”
The organizers claim that some exhibition segments are seeing unprecedented levels of interest and are already reserved by more than 80%.
While announcing its plans of going full-fledged as an on-ground event this time, IFA also showed its concern about people’s safety. It said that public health and safety are their utmost priority. They are in constant contact with public health authorities as they develop concepts that will ensure the safety of visitors and exhibitors alike.
