After announcing Windows 11 official rollout day, Microsoft has now sent out invites for one more event that will commence this month only. Microsoft has made this official via a tweet as well, where it has captioned the #MicrosoftEvent with a link that navigates to the official website and reveals the event date that is September 22. Not much is shared on this webpage, but the invites reveal what the event will be about.
The invite says “the company will talk about devices and Windows 11.” The brief doesn’t particularly state “Surface devices,” but we believe Microsoft will launch the much-rumored Surface Duo 2 and a new Surface laptop as well. Also, the webpage shows an image of a laptop, which makes this pretty suggestive that whatever we are assuming might be true.
So much has been leaked about the Surface Duo 2 already. Recently, a Geekbench listing revealed the Duo 2 will include Snapdragon 888 SoC, 8GB RAM, and run Android 11. Some images have also leaked in the past that suggested the Surface Duo 2 will include a triple rear camera system – telephoto, ultrawide angle lens, and a standard lens. The device is also rumored to include an NFC chip for contactless payments.
Not many details on the successor to the Surface Book 3 are available at the moment. However, it is speculated that Microsoft will address it as Surface Laptop Pro instead. Also, there is said to be a Surface Go 3 laptop on the cards as well and its recent benchmark listing suggested Intel Pentium processors with 4GB RAM.
The launch event is just around the corner but we may still see some leaks dribbling out any moment before the launch date.
