Google may host an event on October 5, but don't expect Pixel 6 phones

Google apparently has a hardware event to conduct on October 5, this is according to a post by CNET. Well, the post was pulled by the publication, but XDA Developers’ Editor-in-Chief managed to retrieve it from the archive and shared it with all of us.

As per the archived post, Google will unveil new Nest products, including smart speakers, security devices. In addition to this, the event is likely to announce updates to Google Maps and its Travel website.

The post, otherwise, puts up hazy details on what to expect and we can’t really tell what this press event entails for. One of the excerpts reads, “Google is getting ready to announce its next batch of devices, covering at least its Nest, Travel, and Maps brands.” But, Google doesn’t have any product line by the name “Travel.” It is rather a site that lets consumers search and book their flights, look for vacation rentals, and hotels.

However, one thing appears pretty clear from the post which is Google might not announce the much-anticipated Pixel 6 series at the press event scheduled for October 5. This is because the post only makes a mention of the products other than the new Pixel phones.

Also, note that Google unveiled a couple of new products last month only, including battery-powered Nest cams and a doorbell. So, it is unknown what else Google has planned to bring. It is possible we might see new smart speakers or some entirely new products in the Nest product line.

If Google has planned any such event for the mentioned date, we’d hear about the same from the company itself pretty soon. This is because the alleged launch date is just around the corner and if Google cares to have global coverage, it should announce the date on its own and that too on time.

The Google Pixel 6 isn't still available. To be notified when it becomse available click here.
