HP had showcased its Chromebox back in January and was supposed to start retailing from May end. It is available in four different configurations on HP’s site and can be bought from there. However, all the variants are out of stock barring the i7 processor variant, which only has 8 units available.
For a price of $199, you get a ChromeBox powered by an Intel Celeron processor with HD Graphics coupled with 32GB SSD and 4GB RAM. You can increase RAM with the help of one empty slot. This base model is helpful for people who want to do basic activities like accessing emails or browsing through social media.
There is a huge difference in price for the next variant where you get a powerful Intel Core i5-7300U processor with Intel HD Graphics 620. It comes with 8GB RAM (2*4GB), 32GB SSD storage. This is priced at $549, however, is also out of stock.
If you’re willing to spend a bit more then you can get an eighth-generation Intel Core i7-8650U with Intel UHD Graphics 620 priced at $689. Other specifications like 8GB RAM, 32GB internal storage remains the same. There are only 8 pieces available as of now for this variant.
For $789 the ChomeBox has the same configuration as the Core i7 variant has, however, it has 16GB RAM and 64GB SSD for internal storage.
Connectivity options like 3 USB type 3.0,2 USB 2.0, 1 3-in-1 SD card reader, 1HDMI port, 1USB Typer C and one RJ-45 ethernet connector is common across all the models.
If you're interested in getting one of these ChromeBox, then do keep an eye on the official site for the best price and availability.

All units are out of stock and just 8 remaining of only one variant? Is it lesser stocking or faster selling?
A price difference of $350 is indeed huge. By adding $50, you can get two 32GB SSD-4GB RAM units.
