The Taiwanese OEM HTC financial situation isn't good and with each passing quarter, the company's financial results are getting worse. Despite all this loss, the company is still getting ready to announce new phones. However, instead of releasing a new flagship phone, the company is going to announce another entry-level phone.
Back at IFA this year the company launched U12 Life as the new mid-range offering. Now the company is getting ready for another budget-friendly phone. The device bearing model number 2Q72XXX appeared at the Bluetooth SIG. The listing confirms the device is an entry-level phone running on the Qualcomm's Octa-core Snapdragon 435 SoC.
The Snapdragon 435 chipset was announced a couple of years ago alongside the 425 and 625 lineups. The chipset is built on the 28nm process, its an Octa-core SoC with max clocking at 1.4Ghz. The Adreno 505 is on board as GPU. It has the same GPU like the latest Snapdragon 439 chipset. Another important aspect is Snapdragon 435 chipset only supports 16:9 display which means the HTC phone will have thick bezels display. The device is expected to go official by the end of this year. We can expect more details regarding the phone will appear online in the coming days. Stay tuned.
