The rumored HTC tablet is now official and it has been launched first in Russia. This is the new HTC A100 with a simplistic design approach and yes specifications are equally sober.
The HTC A100 tablet features a 10.1-inch IPS display with Full HD+ resolution. Thick bezels surround the display and the front camera sits on the top bezel. The dual cameras on the back are housed inside a rectangular-shaped module and an LED flash sits inside as well. The power button as well as the volume rocker sit on the top edge.
The HTC A100 is powered by a Unisoc Tiger T618 processor and carries 8GB RAM with 128GB built-in storage that can be expanded up to 256GB using a microSD card. The chipset is built on a 12nm node and includes two ARM Cortex-A75 cores clocked at 2.0GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.0GHz. The tablet gets Mali G52 P2 GPU.
On the back, the tablet has two cameras, 13MP primary sensor, and a 2MP secondary sensor, while the front camera is 5MP. The tablet houses a 7,000mAh battery and runs on Android 11.
Connectivity options include LTE, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0 USB-C, stereo speakers.
The HTC A100 comes in a single gray color option and is priced at 19,990 Russian Rubie which converts to about $273.
HTC has launched a tablet years after its last tablet that was Nexus 9. The A100 has been launched as a mid-range offering in the tablet segment and it is unknown if the company has any plans of bringing it to other countries as well.
