Huawei is working hard to bring tech-devices with new features to the market. They unveiled WiFi Q2 at CES 2018 with 1867 Mbps speed. And now, official report says that their patent for a touch-sensitive bezel for smartwatches got approval from the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO).
According to the document, edges of a watch display will be divided into eight different zones that can be triggered in different combinations for sending various commands. This rules out the need for extra buttons and the designs flaw caused by that. Being said that, we could see two zones of physical buttons on top and bottom.
As you can imagine, the new technology will allow users to perform “screw” gestures along with pinch-zooming and touch scroll. Apart from that, we could expect clicks and force touch features. The design offers a comfortable experience for both left and right-handed users. The bezel could be stainless steel, plastic, aluminum or ceramic while the strap can be rubber or leather.
Let us wait until more details regarding the patent or the device that power this technology surfaces online. We hope that will not take too long.
