Android Pie based EMUI 9.0 beta coming to 9 more Huawei smartphones

18 October 2018 1

Android Pie aims to bring major improvements in the Android OS especially when it comes to a bump in the overall aesthetics, apart from the feature upgrade like battery improvements, adaptive brightness, volume control, app actions etc. Huawei recently rolled out its very own Android Pie based EMUI 9.0 beta for two smartphones earlier while it’s launching it for 9 other phones that include Huawei Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro, Mate 10 Porsche Design, Mate RS Porshe Design, Huawei P20, Honor 10, Honor View 10 and Honor Play.

Note that not all the customers of these above-mentioned phones would be getting the beta update. The company will be limiting the beta roll out to only 5000 users for each of these phones. Users who would be interested to join the beta program to get their hands on the update, they could upgrade their Beta Tester ap to version 8.0.2.81. Then head over ‘Services’ once you’re in the team, and then Upgrade Early Adoption. While these early adopters would enjoy the Android Pie update in advance ahead of its launch, the company would aim to get feedback from these users.

Huawei previously shared what its users could expect from the upcoming Android Pie based update i.e “simple, enjoyable, and consistent” that includes improved user experience that includes GPU Turbo 2.0, optimized app launch, password vault and more. It's cool to see even custom ROMs getting built on the Pie. But still quite a few people are waiting to install the latest Android OS version on their devices.
