Top Chinese smartphone manufacturer Huawei stood second in the most patent filings in EU. The company recently patented a notch-less display design in addition to a very interesting patent to back up its ultra-fast charging technology powered by lithium-silicon.
Now in the latest development, the company has patented a square secondary display that would reside at the back of its future smartphone (if it gets into production) and the design looks promising and helpful. How cool it would be to be able to use a secondary display at the back side of the phone to take selfies (from a better rear camera) and being able to see yourself while shooting it. That’s a genius idea for sure and would be quite helpful.
The patent also hints towards a square-shaped camera that points to a periscopic camera, which is expected to be part of the upcoming Huawei P30 Pro launching at the end of this month The rear squarish display would act more like a mirror and wouldn't offer full device experience though that’s what it’s meant for. Likewise, the patent suggests a triple camera setup as well.
