Nehalem(Intel Core i7) ,Intel's next-generation microarchitecture ,is the Next-generation Intel Quad Core Processor which will be more energy efficient, have better performance, and feature more dynamic scalability. It uses the hafnium-based Intel 45nm hi-k metal gate silicon technology and will be the first to introduce Intel QuickPath technology (faster chip-to-chip communication).It is a Quad Cores CPU, support 8 Threads, and use LGA1366 Socket.It's L3 cache is expected to reach up to the 8MB and it has the Integrated Memory Controllers with three Channel DDR3 RAM. It Supports up to 16 threads with simultaneous multi-threading and use SSE4.2 instructions to increase efficiency.
Intel X58 chipset motherboard will be the first to support Intel's upcoming Bloomfield(Nehalem) CPU.X58 Support LGA1366 Socket and has more flexibility with PCI-E configuration(can set dual X16 or Quad X8 mode on PCi-E).IT will have ICH-10 family of southbridges which supplies up to four PCI Express x16 paths, of which two, are PCI-E 2.0 paths.Initially it will support 800MHz, 1066MHz and 1333MHz DDR3 RAM with total bandwidth of 32GB/sec and up to 24GB of total memory on the 6 available memory slots.
Intel's upcoming X58 chipset for their next-generation Nehalem CPUs will support NVIDIA's SLI technology.
