Twitter for iOS receives new floating compose button and new spam report options

Twitter for iOS has received a new compose button that floats over the interface. It’s similar to the one available on its Android app. Tapping on this floating button will open the compose windows from where you can make some tweets. Also, pressing and holding on the button, you will see an array of options for accessing drafts, uploading photos, and viewing the GIF gallery.

Twitter has announced this new feature for iOS via a tweet,

We’ve got a shiny, new compose button to unveil on Twitter for iOS! Easier than ever to use, the floating icon is prominently displayed and perfect for one-handed scrolling.

Twitter touts that the floating compose button is “perfect for one-handed scrolling and tweet composing.” This new floating button is suitable for one-handed scrolling and Tweet composing.

Twitter has also announced new tools for reporting spam options; there are no sub choices included –

  1. The account tweeting this is fake
  2. Includes a link to a potentially harmful, malicious, or phishing site,
  3. The hashtags included seem unrelated
  4. Uses the reply function to spam
  5. It’s something else

Users can now specify what type of spam they are seeing when they report, including fake accounts.
