Lenovo has officially unveiled Chromebook Duet 5 as its newest Chrome OS tablet. It is essentially a successor to the Chromebook Duet tablet that debuted last year. It should be noted that the newest offering will be known as the Ideapad Duet 5 Chromebook in all markets outside North America.
The Chromebook Duet 5 sports a 13.3-inch Full HD (1920 x1080 pixels) OLED display with 400 nits of brightness. This is a significant increment over the 10-inch display available with the predecessor. Under the hood, it is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 Compute Platform. There are multiple configuration options including up to 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 256GB of onboard storage.
It is powered by a 42Whr battery with a claimed battery life of up to 15 hours. There is support for Rapid Charge to help you refuel it quickly. It comes with a pre-bundled keyboard and kickstand with an optional stylus. There are four speakers, two USB Type-C 3.0 ports, and a Pogo pin.
The base model of the Chromebook Duet 5 with 4GB/64GB configuration is priced at $429 in the United States. It will be sold in Abyss Blue and Storm Grey color options. It will go on sale sometime starting October 2021.
