ThinQ WK9 is LG's new smart display powered by Google Assistant

10 January 2018 2

Google Assistant for smart displays continues to get developed by various companies including LG, JBL, Sony. Just recently at CES 2018, Lenovo presented their Smart Display and now its LG that is coming up with ThinQ WK9 which could possibly be called ThinQ View WK9.

Not that we have a lot of information regarding this device currently, though we know that ThinQ WK9 will feature an 8-inch touch screen along with a front-facing camera. The Audio of the device is tuned by Meridian Audio. In addition to this, the device would definitely be featuring Google Assistant and Chromecast functionality built into it helping the users give voice commands and get answers visually along with the ability to watch YouTube videos.

Likewise, users would also be able to make Duo calls and group together these with the intelligence of Google Assistant alongside Chromecast powered speakers. The orange switch at the top of the device could be for camera lid privacy or possibly can be a mic mute switch which we don’t know at all. Currently, there are no details available about the pricing of the device though we could expect this to follow the launch date of units from JBL and Lenovo around early summer.
