LG TV with HomeKit and AirPlay 2 support to launch mid 2019

06 March 2019 3

LG is aiming to take this to the next level with the integration of AirPlay 2 and HomeKit in its upcoming TV models to be launched in 2019. The support for AirPlay 2 would allow LG TV users to use their iPhones to cast any music, videos or music to their LG TVs. Likewise, the support for HomeKit would empower LG TVs even more with allowing to control a bunch of features offered through iOS. Like being able to toggle TV on/off or change its inputs directly through Control Center.

Chances are that upcoming LG TVs with such support might launch in mid-2019. Likewise, LG TVs would also get a software update that brings Alexa support along with Google Assistant support. LG shared in a statement,

"2019 LG TV owners can also expect to receive a firmware update that will add Amazon Alexa support to complement Google Assistant which is included out of the box, making LG the only TV brand to provide support for both leading AI platforms without the need for additional hardware,"

AirPlay 2 and HomeKit support isn’t new to smart TVs out there though LG seems to be late on the bandwagon of smart TVs market. Would you be interested in casting content through your iOS devices on to your LG TV? Share your views in the comment section below.

When you read about LG's other divisions, it looks like everything is working so smoothly for them and they aren't struggling in this industry.
