24 December 2019 0

LG has been working on dual-display smartphones for quite some time. It started by releasing the LG V50 ThinQ at MWC 2019 that offered secondary display in the form of an accessory. It improved the design approach with LG G8X ThinQ at IFA 2019 which was also rebranded to LG V50S ThinQ in South Korea. And now, LG is reported to be working on a third-generation dual display smartphone that will be unveiled next year.

The report is coming from Korea Herald, a South Korean publication, and cites industry sources to reveal that LG's next-gen dual-display smartphone will arrive at MWC 2020. It is said to offer 5G connectivity and will be the first LG 5G smartphone for the next year. The particular phone is reported to become official as LG V60 ThinQ.

It further quotes an official as,

"LG Electronics is planning to showcase V60 ThinQ as next year's first smartphone to expand its presence in the 5G market. The company is expected to increase its shipments in South Korea, the United States, and Japan."

The upcoming LG V60 ThinQ will also offer the secondary display as an accessory. It means it will be up to users whether they want to make use of the secondary display. Even though LG G8X ThinQ did not sale as per expectations, LG seems to be committed and optimistic about the design approach.
