A new set of LG patent filing has now been revealed, which gives us an insight into what the South Korean company has been working on the drawing board. The patent filing shows that LG is working on a display design where the screen wraps around the body of the smartphone.
As per the image we see that the device has a curved display on top with a really thin bezel below the display. On the other side of the device, we notice that the display is present on both the front and back sides -- which means that there aren't two, but a single wrap around display. In the second image, we also see a circular key, which is probably a home button and a fingerprint scanner, although nothing has been confirmed yet.
These are just the primary sketches and the final product might be completely different. The images also don't showcase the volume rockers and power button on the sides. This means that LG is way off from the release of such a smartphone. One of such devices which surprised the consumers recently was the Xiaomi MI MIX and LG might be equally able to surprise the users with such a device in the future.
LG, in fact, has been rumored to be announcing foldable display phones this year and we even saw reports of the company working on a foldable OLED display followed by a foldable hybrid tablet-cum-phone.
We'll keep you updated with any new updates for this report, so stay tuned.
